WSOP Main Event Champ Duhamel to play Global Poker Masters

WSOP Main Event Champ Duhamel to play Global Poker Masters

With Mike McDonald (GPI#12) unable to commit to playing the Global Poker Masters due to a possible scheduling conflict, the door was left wide open for a WSOP Main Event winner to take his at the GPM … and that’s exactly what 2010 Champion Jonathan Duhamel (GPI#27) will be doing this March in Malta.

Duhamel is the Main Event winner that has enjoyed the most success on the live tournament circuit in the Moneymaker era. The former World #5 has consistently posted points on the circuit with 2 wins and an astounding 29 Top 10 finishes since his career-defining moment in November of 2010. At the moment, he looks to be the only Main Event winner that will take part in the Global Poker Masters.

Team Canada also confirmed that Andrew Chen (GPI#16) has accepted his invitation to the Global Poker Masters and will represent his homeland come March. Chen is coming off a career-year in 2014 with over $1.2M in winnings, including a £394,200 windfall at EPT London in October where he won the High Roller event.
